Initially operating from their home, the company expanded by importing ice cream carts from England in the 1950s to enhance distribution. After being expropriated during the Sandinista revolution in 1979, Eskimo returned to the Salvo family in the 1990s and began expanding throughout Central America in 1992. Today, Eskimo produces over 5,300 tons of ice cream annually and exports to countries like Honduras, El Salvador, and Costa Rica
